In 2004, after visiting my internist, followed by cardiologist, and discovering the seemingly aggressive path of recommended treatment that modern cardiology takes, I decided to research alternative treatment methods in cardiology. I discovered Dr. Howard Wayne in San Diego who was successfully treating his patients in a different way than most cardiologists did. I researched his remarkable track record and opted to follow his treatment in lieu of the protocol of angiography, stents, and eventual bypass surgery. It took at least a year to reach medicine dosages to appropriately control my blood pressure. After a couple of follow up visits he concluded that we had achieved improvement and some reversal of disease and was to continue on that tract. Unfortunately in 2007, Dr. Wayne passed away and no one to my knowledge has taken over his practice. My physician agreed to keep my meds up to date, but I am still looking to find a cardiologist who might be open to treatment similar to
Dr. Wayne's. I am hoping with this blog I might create a discussion that may lead us to another physician that believes in Dr. Wayne's methods. I currently see my physician regularly buy stay away from discussions about cholesterol control and stress tests.
